This black & white sales/promotional film is about the Rowe candy vending machines and how easy they are to operate. Copyright is circa 1954. Rowe Vending Machine Co. was founded in 1928.

Titles: The Rowe Candy Merchant (:09-:25). A plane lands at an airport, Chicago Midway Airport. Exterior of the airport. Cars in the parking lot. Men walk past the Rowe vending machines. Pastry and candy machines. Candy machines have different models, these are explained in detail. A mounting bracket. Candy machine. Mounds, Hershey are potential candies the machine can vend. A man opens the vending machine. Inside of the machine, the inventory is shown, gum/mint columns, numerous candy columns (:26-3:36). Pastry options. exterior of a full candy machine. Baby Ruth, Milky Way, Clark brands. A hand moves the operating knob, if an option is unavailable, the knob won’t move and a sold out decal appears in the window. The coin slot is fed coins. Coin return is touched and the coin is returned. A man pulls the knob, gets his product and change (3:37-6:00). An operator uses a screwdriver on the interior of the machine. The changer bank is shown, the nickels come out of the machine. Coin master replacement is simple. Interior of the candy machine. Columns are easily changed. A man removes one column (6:01-8:11). Shelfs can also be removed. Changing from one price to another is simple. An operator removes the entire candy base. A knob is pulled with a string. The machine is shown without candy. All pieces of product are in the front, not the rear. Leveling for the machine is easy with the turn of a screwdriver (8:12-10:17). The base is opened where extra product is stored. The operator stands next to a working machine. He wipes down the machine. A bracket contains the operator’s information so he can be reached. Shelves are reset by the operator (10:18-12:11). A lever is pulled down in the machine. Coin box is shown filled with coins. The box sorts the coins. An ace lock protects the machine. Columns of the machine. A display bar is easily moved. Rowe Service label on the machine (12:12-14:06). A man cleans the candy machine, he polishes it. He unlocks the ace lock and opens the cabinet door. Slides out the coin box. He reloads the changer. He grabs the coins. He goes through the shelves and counts the number of bars sold, puts down the number on his clipboard. He rotates his stock. He resets the shelves. Gum/mint columns are reloaded, seen close up. Gum slides into place (14:07-16:51). Mints and then candy bars are loaded into the machine. New candy is added, changes the display as well. He coin tests the machine and pulls some knobs. He wipes down the machine once again (16:52-18:37). He puts in a test coin. Rowe Manufacturing Co, Inc logo (18:38-19:14). End credits (19:15-19:31).
