Industry on Parade was a short television program that aired in the U.S. from 1950-1960. It was produced by the National Association of Manufacturers. The series demonstrated complicated industrial processes that transformed raw materials into finished products. Industry On Parade Man Made Miracles is one of those black and white, public service, industrial films, probably produced in the mid 1950’s. Narrators used were Bob Wilson, Peter Roberts, and Radcliffe Hall. It was produced by Arthur Lodge Production, Inc. In 1953, Arthur Lodge formed his company and began producing his educational films. He wrote and produced more than 500 episodes for Industry On Parade.

Seeds put in the small ovens – heat by using oxygen-hydrogen flames – creates the stone (5:21-5:52). Powder that helps create diamonds (5:54-6:32). Creating crystals using ammonium dyhydrogen phosphate and seed crystals (6:37-7:06). Tanks to control temperature (7:08-7:27). Crystals produced (7:58-8:05). Cutting the crystals (8:07-8:25). Production of polyethylene by the Bakelite Company (8:31-8:49). Making a hat out of plastic (8:56-9:34). Plastic dividers/partition (9:43-9:51). Balloon made of plastic (10:19-10:25). Mohawk Carpet plant using synthetic fibers to create carpets (10:28-10:43). Looms that create the carpet (10:45-11:27). Knitting machines (11:40-11:43). Cutting the fabric (11:44-12:08). Synthetic fabric used in paint rollers (12:09-12:22). Synthetic fabric used for stuffed animals (12:34-12:42). Synthetic fabric used in women’s coat fashions (12:43-12:56).
