In the “Personalities” segment, viewers see Max Reinhardt as he arrives in the U.S. (05:33), Norman Rockwell and his wife, and Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis working at his desk in Chicago before becoming the first commissioner of baseball. Next, footage shows the aftermath of a gas line explosion in London in 1928 (06:40). In May 1927, California Governor C.C. Young and Nevada Governor Fred Balzar participate in the dedication of California’s new Carquinez Bridge (07:20). In the episode’s segment on aviation, RAF pilots perform precision flying maneuvers in England (08:55). Paratroopers jump from planes and parachute to the ground. Pilots fly stunts just above the earth. In “Fashions of the Day,” a woman gets her hair styled in 1927. The episode concludes with two sporting events. In the second annual “Bunion Derby,” Johnny Salo wins the trans-continent race in Los Angeles (11:05). At Lake Washington, the University of Washington crew team beats the University of California Bears team.
