64184 1940s 16mm HOME MOVIE OAKLAND AIRPORT TO MEXICO VIA UNITED AIRLINES DC-3

This silent 1940s 16mm home movie starts in a family rose garden before quickly moving to the Oakland Airport (:50) where well dressed passengers board a United Airlines DC-3 Mainliner. At 1:25 the family boards the plane and at 1:40 the sun set is seen out the passenger cabin window. At 1:50 the film shifts to what appears to be Mexico. At 2:50 scenes on the streets are seen including a man riding away on horseback. At 3:20 a mountain valley is shown, and at 3:30 Aztec Ruins. At 4:47 an impressive rock structure is seen, while at 4:50 a quite garden is shown. At 4;14 a mission church is seen in the distance. At 5:27 a beautiful shot of a mountainous valley with a church featured in it is seen. At 6:40 the spire is seen up close but it appears the spire is all that exists — there is no church to be seen. At 13:28 the gardens of Xochimilco are shown in Mexico City. At 14:00 a bullfight is seen.
