One of the Army Navy Screen Magazines produced during WWII, #22 is comprised of the following segments:

BURMA OUTPOST which looks at a group of eight Americans who are posted in the remote Burmese jungle, serving as an advance guard. At 3:15 a supply drop is made to the group.

At 4:16, the cartoon A FEW QUICK FACTS looks at the Air Transport Command which delivers cargo all over the world.

At 6:38, QUENTIN REYNOLDS TALKS ABOUT G.I. NEWS tells the story of the making of “Yank” Magazine. Reynolds, a veteran journalist who had just returned from the battle of the Aleutians, narrates the entire bit. The segment goes behind the scenes to show how Yank is researched, created and printed, and then distributed all over the world by the Air Transport Command. At 11 minutes Yank rolls off the printing presses. At 12:50, news is distributed by teletype to overseas locations where Stars and Stripes and the Dispatch are printed.

At 15:03, a letter from Iran requesting music results in none other than Oscar Hammerstein granting permission to perform a piece from the musical “Oklahoma!” and — to the delight of every G.I. in the audience it is performed by an all female orchestra.
