This silent film shows a trip to Hong Kong in the late 1940s or early 1950s. Some of the notable shots include the harbor (:16), jewelry district (:42), streets that are not that crowded compared to today (1:11), the Victoria Peak Tram (3:07), views from Victoria Peak (3:20), and the Tiger Balm Garden (4:14) and Tiger Pagoda (4:30). At 7:54 the film shows a resort outside the city, possibly Silvermine Beach. A fleet of junks is seen at 9:14. At 10:19 a ferry terminal for Kowloon is shown, followed by another shot of a graceful Chinese junk.

Haw Par Mansion better known as its area that open to the public Tiger Balm Garden, also called Aw Boon Haw Garden, was a mansion and gardens located at 15, Tai Hang Road, Tai Hang, Wan Chai District, Hong Kong. The Tiger Balm Garden was demolished for redevelopment in 2004. The Haw Par Mansion and its private garden have been preserved.

The Hong Kong Haw Par Mansion and its formerly adjoining Tiger Balm Garden were one of three Tiger Balm mansions and gardens. The others are located in Singapore (now the Haw Par Villa) and in Fujian province, where the gardens remain.
