One of a series of films made by the Royal Air Force during WWII, this silent film about the Blenheim bomber and Blenheim fighter/bomber uses models to present the aircraft in profile. (At 1:56 you can clearly see the filament used to suspend the model.) Recognition films of this type were extremely important, as a mis-identified British aircraft could be shot down by trigger-happy anti-aircraft gunners. Since the Blenheim had characteristics similar to the German He-111 bomber, this film was probably standard viewing for all spotters and gun crews. The USA made similar films although they often used animation instead of models, hiring studios like Walt Disney Co. and others to produce them.
