62144 ” GEMINI VII AND GEMINI VI QUICK LOOK ” 1965 NASA GEMINI PROGRAM DOCUMENTARY (SILENT)

This film is a silent version of a NASA “Quick Look” documentary about the Gemini Program. The Gemini Program had four main goals: to test an astronaut’s ability to fly long-duration missions, to understand how spacecraft could rendezvous and dock in orbit around the Earth and the Moon, to perfect re-entry and landing methods, and further to understand the effects of longer space flights on astronauts. This film covers the launches of the Titan II rockets, the success of the rendezvous of Gemini VI, manned by Tom Stafford and Walter Schirra, and VII, manned by Jim Lovell and Frank Borman, in 1965, and the following recovery of the capsule at sea.
