The air traffic controllers (1:21) give instructions to a Pan American Boeing 707 Jet Clipper (1:24), with a view inside the cockpit (1:40-1:53) and the passenger cabin full of sleeping people (1:57-2:43). A steam locomotive (3:23) passes young children playing in creeks (3:38). A man greets a mailman on bicycle (3:59) and gets milk from a metal container (4:00). Welch salmon fishermen carry their boats to the water (4:35-5:00). Double-decker busses outside the British Railways Victoria Station (5:03) share the bridge with walkers (5:15). Some stone buildings have intricate carvings, including a crest (6:09-6:18). Roof rethatching continues (6:35). A bird’s eye view of villages is shown (7:24-7:35). A London corner’s advertisers include Coca-Cola, Schweppes, and Wrigley (7:52-8:02). A Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II waits (8:18). A Pan American sign advertises 57,000 completed Atlantic miles (8:35). A man gets a shoeshine (8:37) by a sidewalk chalk artist (8:41). A woman buys flowers (8:51), a man views books (8:55), and Toby Jug Mugs are for sale (8:59). Street vendors hawk wares (9:03-9:16). The changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace occurs (9:30-10:52). The fountains of Trafalgar Square are relaxing (10:58-11:35) as are its parks (11:55-12:25) and boats (12:27). One passes Windsor Castle (12:43) as others glide on the River Cam past Cambridge University (13:35-13:58). Some play cricket (14:29), attend a horse race (14:37), ride a merry-go-round (14:56), roller skate (15:04), or watch a Punch and Judy puppet show (15:19). A passenger steam train passes (15:33). The southern coast is tropical (15:44); the beach is crowded (16:01). Other activities include archery (16:21), golf (16:21), hunting (16:24), and fishing (16:26). Children sail handmade boats (16:35) while others sail (16:56-17:37). Fishing is a living (17:36-18:01). A donkey carries two large barrels (18:02). People collect cockles and mussels at low tide (18:16-18:37). A farmer hand-thrashes grain (18:39). Men pitchfork bales onto a wagon (18:51). At an annual county fair, dairy cows are paraded (19:04-19:21), sheep and pigs are sold (19:22-19:38), and people play games (19:40-19:53). Windermere in the north has estates with horseback riders (20:11-20:25). A 1950s MGTD London Roadster speeds up a hill (20:33) for afternoon tea (21:00). Across the moors is Scotland (21:43), where sheep are herded (21:50-22:40). Wool is woven on mechanical looms (22:41-22:57). Edinboro is the capital (23:08). A Scottish bagpipe band in kilts performs (23:15) at the clan’s Highland Games, which include the caber toss (23:29), the stone put (23:36), the weight throw (23:37), and a tug-of-war (23:55). Highland dancers perform to bagpipe music (24:03-24:21). London at night is lit with fanciful neon (24:34-25:05). Shows include ballet (25:08), opera (25:16) and vaudeville (25:26). A pub serves clients (25:38); one plays darts (26:03). London also has casinos with shows (26:09). A milkman delivers (27:08). The passengers are served by stewardesses as it arrives at London (27:23), announced by the pilots (27:44).
