The movie opens with footage of a printing press. The film is about the Information Revolution, :55. Glen Penniston shows a piece of silica (a microchip) and discusses how this small item is changing our lives. At 1:49 a child uses what appears to be an Atari 800 8-bit home computer to play a video game. A rocket blasts off, 1:55. President John F. Kennedy visits West Berlin – the event is the first to be transmitted via satellite from Europe to America. Parade footage, West Berlin 2:08. Camera atop police car chases another car down the highway, 2:47. Police chases stolen car down winding road, 3:14. Travel writer speaks on the phone in front of a fire; he works from home using a computer, 3:38. 1980 Olympic sports are shown on a television, 4:00. Olympic hockey game is featured, and a goal is scored, 4:28. Glen Penniston discusses microcomputing, 4:44. At 4:46 early LED and LCD displays are shown in radio dials, microwave displays and calculator displays. Airport footage, 5:27. Air traffic controllers using computers to track planes, 5:57. Woman editing data on a computer terminal, 6:28. Physician in Paris looks over an X-ray and examines a young boy, 6:47. Physician uses computer to analyze her diagnosis, 7:02. Child uses a toy computer, probably a Speak and Spell, 7:40. Boy delivers a copy of the Johnstown Tribune Democrat to a lady in front of her home, 8:22.
