This film shows the 1964 Tournament of Roses Parade and features former President Dwight D. Eisenhower and his wife Mamie touring the floats (1:00) and serving as Grand Marshals for the event. At 2:30 the Eisenhowers are seen at the Tournament House on January 1, 1964. KTTV TV cameras record the event as it begins at 3:10. Eisenhower is seen again at 4:30 in the parade. The Rose Parade Queen Nancy Kneeland, age 19 and hailing from San Gabriel, is seen at 6:00.
The 1964 Rose Bowl was between the University of Illinois and University of Washington and you will see many floats dedicated to these states, the university bands and mascots in the film.
