54234 RED SQUARE MOSCOW 1970s TRAVELOGUE w/ KREMLIN, ST. BASIL’S & LENIN’S TOMB

This 1970s travelogue of Red Square, Moscow shows Lenin’s tomb, St. Basil’s Cathedral and other prominent landmarks in the heart of the Soviet Union’s capitol. The film includes a changing of the guard at the tomb at 1:15, with crowds of people seen observing the somber ceremony. At 1:58, some of the long lines of people paying respects to Lenin and those who died defending the Soviet Union are seen including Young Pioneers. At 2:40, a military parade is seen featuring rocket launchers, guided missiles and ICBMs on trailers. At 3:36, the first man in space Yuri Gargarin is shown waving to crowds from the Kremlin.
