This black and white film is in French and highlights Vichy France. The hair and clothing cross 1930s/1940s styles but with no mention of war, it either predates WWII or was propaganda that everything was fine during it. Vichy was and is still a spa and resort city in the Allier department of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes in central France. In WWII, it served as the seat of government of Vichy France from 1940 to 1944 as a “Free Zone” while Germany occupied the other zones. It remains a park-garden today. The film is produced by Revelations. It opens with horseback riders passing pedestrians and bicycle riders on the Bellerive Bridge with its many flags, and continue riding on into the city (:20-:50). They pass the Source Celestins, a spring of mineral water, and people drink glasses of its water (:51-1:07). They ride through the street past many different stores (1:08-1:30). A 1930s Citroen Traction Avant is parked on the street (1:32). They pass the Thermal Center of the Domes, a spa built in 1903 (1:33-1:38). The riders are seen through arbors over outdoor café diners (1:39-2:03) and another view of the Source Celestins (2:04-2:22). The people walk their horses past golfers at the Vichy Sporting Club and view a menu at the clubhouse, where they now dine on an outdoor patio (2:23-3:15). They walk through a greenhouse (3:16-3:30) and down stone steps to an indoor pool of spring water bubbling up at Celestins (3:31-4:15). They look down on the stacks of glass bottles being filled with the mineral water, inspected by women on a line, labeled, and packed in wooden crates (4:16-). One male worker is wearing a newsboy hat (4:29) and the bottles on the bottom row (5:44) have a label that was used in 1929, as per a magazine ad from that time. Next, a poster for a Concours Hippique advertises an equestrian competition (6:14). The horses jump fences and gates and the winners are congratulated (6:15-7:07).
