This group of clips from 16mm silent home movies is guaranteed to make you smile. The clips range from the 1940s through the 1950s.
Segments include:
10 seconds: twin boys in Swiss lederhosen outfits having fun in the backyard, and at :47 you will see their version of a roller coaster. At 1:02 they have transitioned to cowboy and Indian costumes for some backyard Wild West action! At 1:19 the young cowboy is killed. At 1:30, a gaggle of Indians is seen in the backyard holding a pow wow.At 2:10 the Chief makes faces and sticks out his tongue. At 2:20 the entire tribe waves hello in front of the cloth teepee, and at 2:40 the birthday party concludes with a pinata and a cake.
At 3:20, a record player is seen. At 4:16, someone with a sore rear end (probably from horse back) is seen at a picnic. At 4:46, daddy (with pipe in his mouth) plays horsie with junior. Then he does it with his wife a short time later.
At 5:50, Daddy puts on another record and the whole family gathers to watch an incredible hula dance put on by little miss sunshine. This is quite an elaboarte Hawaiian number she learned during her time in the islands.
At 7:26, grandma has a lot of fun with a noisemaker at New Years (or maybe just a birthday party for a little girl) .
At 8:04, hay fever strikes a poor fellow. Sorry this bit got overexposed when we transferred it! At 8:47 he kind of moons the camera.Then more hay fever.
At 9:25, lots of family hijinx with dancing old ladies, a man and his pet dog enjoy the whole thing as seen at 10:09. ‘
At 10:49, time for a change of reels — if you got to go, time to go!
At 11:03, someone’s lovely wife gets a Hollywood kiss!
At 11:30, trombone playing in the garden. 11:53, a close-up, and at 12:00 some dancing by a lady who really knows how to rumba followed by more dancing, a portable record player at 12:20, and a man gone crazy at 12:37.
At 12:42, co-ordinated dancing followed at 13:15 by a super long smootch!
And at 13:20, favorite shot of the ladies with the hats … has to be seen to be appreciated.
