47804 1953 BELL & HOWELL MODEL 200 MAGAZINE MOVIE CAMERA ADVERTISING FILM

Made in 1952 to promote the release of the new Model 200 16mm movie camera, this Bell & Howell company film “Movie Star” also contains a brief history of B&H’s cameras — with nearly 250K sold by the time this movie was released. This included WWII aerial gun cameras as well as B&H’s first camera, the Filmo-121 and its relative the 141 and the post-WWII 153 camera. As the film says, the B&H 200 won the Society of Motion Picture Art Directors award in 1951 for its elegant design and dependability.

The film shows the “200” on TV in a modern household, and then shows the various aspects of its compact design with its all metal exterior, lens-max viewfinder, easy to remove lenses, five speed operation including slo-mo and stop motion, easy exposure system, and cartridge based loading system. It even comes with a lifetime guarantee. “You buy for life when you buy Bell & Howell.”
