45574 “A MILLION INVISIBLE MESSENGERS” 1959 CB RADIO CITIZENS BAND PROMOTIONAL FILM COMMUNICATIONS

This color educational film is about CB Radios/Two Way Radios and how necessary they are. Most of the footage is still images live action and animation. Copyright 1959.

Opening titles: A Million Invisible Messengers (:07-:55) Clock bell goes off. Police car is stationary with two policemen in it. One uses a CB radio to contact another. Police have a man cuffed. Map of the United States (:56-2:10). A woman calls the city gas plant, there’s a gas odor. The plant contest a person to go smell the odor. Firetrucks at the scene of a blaze. A fireman uses a CB radio. The police are notified. Firemen at the scene of a fire. Hoses spray water to bring down the flames. CB Radios are vital. Fire man overcome by smoke gets sent to the hospital in an ambulance (2:11-4:07). Airwaves are busy. Antennas fire off signals to vehicles . Taxi cabs also use CB Radios. A cab driver radios in an erratic driver who hit two parked cars. The police send out the information. The police with public assistance have arrested the drunk driver (4:08-5:58). Coordination is vital. Antenna tower. How CB radios are useful is explained. Trucks in the early morning ready with their loads. A truck comes in to pick up a load of meat. A truck breaks down but radios it in, he gets help right away. Trains also use the communication. A ranger contacts fire crews as he sees smoke in the forest. Firemen move into position and the fire is under control (5:59-9:18). Logging work continues in the forest. Blue Hills Farm. A woman contacts her husband via CB Radio. A doctor comes to look at a sick animal. He does it and then radios in for his next assignment. The doctor drives. He passes a new highway project (9:19-11:14). The doctor passes by a rancher. He drives on. Men working on the road. A serviceman replenishes a coke machine at a gas station. Oil wells, refineries, trucks. An oil pipeline. A drilling barge used to drill for oil (11:15-13:17). Off shore oil platform. Pipelines. Refineries. Trucks bring gasoline. Gas trucks. Lumber trucks, laundry trucks. Tractor trailers bring everything (13:18-14:50). Police. Power stations. Trucks. Forklifts, tow trucks. Men use CD Radios at work. FCC wants people to use CB Radios. Visiting nurse. Trucks and cars. CB Radio. A town in the U.S.A. Radios across the country (14:51-16:54).
