This vintage, silent home movie dates to the 1930s, and unfortunately is a bit worse for wear. It begins with a London theater queue at :16. The event is a Balalaika performance presented by Eric Maschwitz. is a musical play in three acts with book and lyrics by Eric Maschwitz, music by George Posford and Bernard Grun. It opened in London at the Adelphi Theatre on 22 December 1936, starring Muriel Angelus, Roger Treville, Clifford Mollison and Betty Warren, and ran for 569 performances.

At :49 the Caledonia Market is shown. At 1:40 a British boy poses for the camera and drinks from a water fountain. At 2:00 the site where William Penn was baptized, All Hallows Church, London, is shown. John Wesley’s home on Alder’s Gate is seen at 2:53, and the world’s first YMCA at 2:40. Bunhill Cemetery is seen at 3:22 with the tomb of John Bunyan shown. At 4:30, London neon signs are seen at night, looks like it’s at Piccadilly Circus. A wonderful Royal Mail neon is shown at 7 minutes. At 7:06 the Greenwich Observatory is shown as well as the formal gardens. Eton College is at 8:45. At 10:00 the River Dee at Chester is seen. Shakespeare’s house is at 12:30. At 13:00 a brief color segment with an English garden at Hampton Court Palace, as well as scenes at Chester. At 14:50 Stratford on Avon is shown and at 15:40 the London horse guard. At 16:00 Selfridge’s store with royal decorations. At 16;17 Hyde Park public speakers are seen with large crowds, followed at 16:56 by shots of Trafalgar Square.
