At :39, Wehrmacht troops in winter uniforms guide horse drawn supply wagons in the bitter cold. At :58, railroad tracks are built over a snowy landscape. At 1:00 German panzer tanks operate in the extreme cold. At 1:22, German snipers in white winter covers fire rifles and cut barbed wire as they advance. At 1:39, a binocular periscope is used in a snow cave to spy on the enemy. At 2:00, a machinegun crew is shown. At 2:11, a Soviet soldier surrenders to the Germans, followed at 2:20 by a large group of comrades. At 2:37 a command post bunker is shown. At 2:48 a military motorcycle with sidecar delivers mail to ecstatic troops. At 2:58, troops push gear on sleds towards waiting trimotor Junkers transports. At 3:19 reindeer are pressed into service. At 3:40, troops are pinned down by Soviet snipers. The fast response is with machinegun fire, artillery and finally panzers.
