This episode of “The Big Picture”, part of the Army in Action WWII series, is entitled “The Spreading Holocaust”. It features the story of the military events of 1941 and 1942, with the Axis triumphant on all fronts including the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the German drive across North Africa and deep into Russia, and the Japanese assault on China, the Philippines and British possessions in Asia including Singapore. The siege of Bataan is shown, and the surrender of American forces in the Philippines. FDR is shown addressing Congress about production at the 18 minute mark, and American industry responds with enormous logistical and production support for the war effort.
