3000 ” Admiral Chester Nimitz ” 1962 Ep of Wolper Biography Series

David Wolper Productions, 1962

“This is an episode of the original “Biography” series which ran from 1961-64. It was produced by David Wolper and Jack Haley Jr. and narrated by Mike Wallace, who at the time was just beginning his award-winning journalism career. The show featured no interviews, consisting instead of a half hour of film clips, newsreel footage, still photographs and recordings. It is possible that archaic language may be present in the content that would be considered racially insensitive to modern viewers. Additionally there may be elements of the portrayals of people and events in these programs that have since been found to be inaccurate. These programs, from VHS copies of early 1980s television repeat broadcasts, are presented only for their historical value. Analog artifacts of the source recordings are present; limitations of the source media are evident. Information in this caption includes material from the wikipedia article about the “Biography” series: “

“Documentary film biographies of the most important figures of the 20th Century, e.g. Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt Adolf Hitler. General Charles De Gaulle, Col. Charles Lindberg.” Unsure if this matches film, but seems likely, need to pull film and check title to be sure – Ryan
