Crewman on an aircraft carrier play a practical joke that backfires.
The Navy Log TV show presented some of the great stories in the history of the 20th Century U.S. Navy, including survival and war stories. The series premiered on CBS on September 20, 1955, but moved to ABC in 1956, where it aired until September 25, 1958. The program aired for a total of three seasons and 104 episodes.
Dating from season one in 1955, this Korean War episode of Navy Log is entitled “Of Caution and Courage.” It stars Walter Sande as Robbie and Joseph Downing as Molton and was directed by Sam Gallu. The plot of this episode surrounds a practical joke that backfires. The show uses footage shot aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex CV-9, with F2H Banshees aboard. Her two deployments in the Korean War were from August 1951 – March 1952 and July 1952 – January 1953.
