Made at the height of the Cold War, “The Communist Threat” is an over-the-top 1960’s drama film about a family in East Germany trying the escape to freedom in the West. The films stars Michael Cramer (as Miklos), Gudula Blau (as Lora) Ernst Constantine (as Gousev) and Paul Glavion (as Eric). The film was written by Don Fearheiley and directed by Jesse Hibbs.

Lead actor Michael Cramer was born on March 1, 1930 in Wickrath, Germany. He was known for Babette Goes to War (1959), Der Jäger vom Roteck (1956) and Parole Heimat (1955). He was married to Anne-Marie Sprotte and Eva Rimski. He died on November 28, 2000 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

Director Jesse Hibbs was born on January 11, 1906 in Normal, Illinois, USA as Jesse John Hibbs. He was a director and assistant director, known for Perry Mason (1957), To Hell and Back (1955) and The F.B.I. (1965). He was married to Jane Margaret Story. He played in the NFL and also for the University of Southern California football team. He died on February 4, 1985 in Ojai, California, USA
