This black & white educational film is about the Allied attacks against Nazi Germany during World War II. Copyright is 1945 but the film shows events circa 1943/1944.

Opening titles: Target Germany! (:06-:12). U.S. Army Air Force planes in the skies over Germany. Bombs are loaded planes. Rows of bombs being worked on by men. American flag is raised on a flag pole. Inside a factory where B-17 Flying Fortresses are being assembled (:13-1:54). Mechanics fix planes. Propellers are wheeled around. Planes are pieced together. Inside a plane’s cockpit. Classes for airmen so they can learn their way around the plane. Officer speaks to the men about their targets coming up. Men of the Eighth Air Force (1:55-3:59). Crews sit in on a target briefing as target locations are pointed out. Planes lined up on an airfield, ready for takeoff. Bombers take off into the sky. Stills of bombers dropping bombs on German bases in Africa. Planes in the sky over Germany (4:00-5:46). Twin engine Marauders get ready to fly. Bombs are loaded into them. American pilots walk towards the planes. RAF (Royal Air Force) & USAAF (United States Army Air Force) load up (5:47-7:07). B-24 LIberators and B-17s take off into the sky. A giant map. Men write on a chalk board. Propellers turn in the sky. Pilots are ready as the planes head for Germany. Planes in the sky (7:08-8:49). Artillery fires at the Allied planes in the sky. Bombs are dropped onto the fields below. Smoke plumes show where the explosions hit from the sky. Planes fly on through the clouds. Planes drop bombs onto specified targets below (8:50-10:48). Explosions seen from high above. American pilot looks worried. Bombs rain onto the ground below. (10:49-13:23). From a bird eye’s view, the ground heaves under the force of TNT. Martin B-26 Marauders fly away after dropping their bombs (13:24-15:23). Planes in formation on the ground. Planes take off down a runway and head into the air. Many Allied planes in the sky (15:24-17:13). P-47 Thunderbolts fly support missions over Germany. Dogfights over the skies of Germany. Explosions in the sky (17:14-19:09). Numerous Allied planes over Germany. Allies shoot down Luftwaffe fighters (19:10-21:10). Gunners shoot from machine gun turrets. Bombardiers drop bombs. Bay doors open, bombs drop. Tons of smoke emanates from the ground. Bombers continue to drop bombs (21:11-23:05). Ground is covered in smoke. Explosions continue on the ground. Planes and Bombers turn. Gunfire continues as gunners spray German planes with machine gun fire. Gunners spy German planes and fire. A smoking engine on a damaged plane. Planes march onward (23:06-25:42). Allied planes in the air. Sound of gunfire all around them. A damaged Allied plane, pilot bails out, his parachute can be seen heading for the ground below. Bomb run continues. RAF Spitfires head back towards an Allied base. Planes land back in England on an airbase. A damaged plane lands on a shredded tire and goes upright but adjusts and lands down properly (25:43-28:11). Plane after plane from the bombing mission land in England. Planes and pilots on the ground. Injured pilots and crewmen. Some wounded are brought out on stretchers. The injured are worked on by medics (28:12-30:45). A sign says “Hot Coffee / Hot News” — pilots can rest and be debriefed. Ships on the North Sea pick up men who had to ditch their planes, the men are in liferafts. Bombers sit on the ground. 60% of all U.S. planes have battle damage. Planes are checked by crew chiefs and crews. Some will never fly again (30:46-32:38). B-17 “Stella” flew back on one engine, skidded to a stop when it landed. Damaged undercarriage of the plane. Bulldozers at work building a rough runway (32:39-34:35). Repaired bomber takes off down the runway, it will fly again over the skies of Germany. Faces of the crew on the ground (34:36-35:47).
