Opening titles: The Ministry of Information Presents The Royal Australian Navy (:07). Royal Navy sailors stand at attention (:47). The men march (1:01). Rocks and ocean surf of Australia (1:08). Royal Australian Navy ships perform convoy duty (1:33). Recruits arrive at Flinders Naval Depot in Victoria (1:46). (The base was originally called Flinders Naval Base, then was renamed Flinders Naval Depot in 1925 and HMAS Cerberus, Westernport in 1963). Navy men in a small sailboat (1:58). Men perform calisthenics (2:12). Navy men march (2:24). Signal school (2:33). Morse code (2:47). Getting signal flags up quickly (2:51). A class of engineers (3:21). Torpedo school (3:38). Torpedoes being assembled by torpedomen (3:43). Gunnery school (3:56). A naval gun is positioned and ready to be fired by artillery recruits (4:05). Guns are pointed at the sky (4:10). Montage of different naval jobs (4:20).

HMAS Cerberus is a Royal Australian Navy (RAN) base that serves as the primary training establishment for RAN personnel. The base is located adjacent to Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula, south of the Melbourne City Centre, Victoria, Australia. The base is also an official bounded locality of the Shire of Mornington Peninsula and is the only naval base to have a specific listing in the Australian census.
