One of a series of documentary films made by the War Department’s Industrial Incentive Division during WWII, “Special Delivery to Japan” shows how aircraft munitions and bombs, as well as other explosives and artillery munitions, make their way through the logistics supply chain to the front. Dating from 1945, this film was intended to bolster the work of war-weary American war workers and to encourage them to work harder and buy more war bonds. It includes a discussion of artillery weapons and contains many fascinating details about shells and shell types.
