It opens with a red four-wheel drive Chevy Blazer (:09) which was also available in a two-wheel drive model (:16). A low entry height of about twenty inches is pointed to enabling easy access (:25). The vehicle makes turns around a highway bend to demonstrate its easy turning ability (:28). Due to its height, it enabled easy viewing over cars ahead as one cuts through a town area (:34). A shot of the Blazer’s sales over the years follows (:38). The vehicle is shown pulling up to a ranch as it was versatile and could be used for work or pleasure purposes (:43). Two trim levels were available to be chosen from (:56). The interior is exposed (1:01) with front bucket seats. Double wall construction was used in the hood (1:10), front fenders, doors, rear porter panels and tailgate (1:14). The Blazer body is dipped into the Elpo Electron Coating Dip to prevent corrosion (1:25). It is then seen towing a boat (1:38). With proper equipment the Blazer could tow up to 5,500 pounds (1:44). A choice existed between four engine types including the 305 cubic inch V8 engine (1:48). All of the vehicles could be run on leaded or unleaded fuel (1:56). Three transmission were available to be chosen from (2:00). The locking hubs are pointed to (2:11). Four-wheel drive Blazers with automatic transmissions had a full-time four-wheel drive system which prevented drivers from having to manually engage or disengage the front hubs (2:19). As the use of low and high range traction is pointed out, a warning light goes off to inform the driver to only remain in LOC position for as long as necessary (3:00). The Blazer had a calibrated soft ride suspension system (3:16). It was designed to have good ground clearance in order to protect the underside components (3:31). The transfer gauge (3:33), drive shafts (3:38) and steel shield plates are shown (3:43). It sat up to five passengers (3:49). The comfort tilt steering wheel is shown (3:57), as well as the cruise control (4:00). Hard tops were equipped with rear roll down windows (4:10). The sliding side windows are then pointed out (4:18). The soft top convertible model follows (4:24). The Blazer chalet is then shown in the factory as a fiber glass camper body is installed over the steel frame work (4:40). The pop top was raised easily (4:51) and provided over six feet of head room (4:54). The compact galley is shown to be equipped with stainless steel sinks, a water supply with an electric pump and a two-burner stove (5:01). One of the two storage compartments came equipped with a hanging wardrobe (5:10). Chalet seats are converted for sleeping accommodations (5:16). Other available convenience items include an LPG heater and a refrigerator (5:22). The film wraps up as the Blazer rides out of water onto grass (5:32). The Chevy logo closes the film (5:40).

The Chevrolet K5 Blazer is a full-size sport-utility vehicle that was built by General Motors. GM’s smallest full-size SUV, it is part of the Chevrolet C/K truck family. Introduced to the Chevrolet line for the 1969 model year, the K5 Blazer was replaced for 1995 by the Chevrolet Tahoe. The Blazer was designed and marketed to compete with International Harvester Scout and the Ford Bronco. Both of these were originally aimed at the short Jeep CJ series, which were much smaller than other trucks. The innovation of the Blazer was to simply offer a shortened pickup truck, which both increased interior space, and lowered the cost of production with a shared platform.
