This 1960s era, color movie is about men who have dedicated time in their lives to the Boy Scouts. The title is Men Who Make a Difference. The film is narrated but also has characters speaking directly to the camera about their experiences with Scouting. The movie’s purpose is to discuss the importance the Scoutmaster plays in the development of a boy’s life. Various men are interviewed about how important Scouting is in their lives. The movie’s narrative takes place through the experience of one Scoutmaster and his troop. The movie opens with a man sitting behind a desk. A man addresses the camera from a street filled with storefronts :47. The man talks about being a Boy Scout leader for over 50 years. Cowboy standing in front of the entrance to a ranch 1:09. This man is also a Boy Scout leader. Man sitting in his office on his desk talking about Scouting 1:41. Man standing in front of a silo on a farm 1:59. He speaks about Scouting. A man sits at a drafting table talking about Scouting 2:18. Scoutmaster being interviewed by a man with a microphone 2:30. A Boy Scout asks the Scoutmaster to help inspect their campsite 2:56. Scouts set their camp 3:11. Different Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are shown 3:38. They are engaged in various activities. A man in a trench coat walks down a dark street 4:30. The man enters an apartment – he hangs his coat and hat 5:00. He is a Scoutmaster. Boy Scouts arrive to the meeting 5:35. One of the Boy Scouts speaks with the Scoutmaster 6:05. Scoutmaster talks to a recruit 6:50. Close-up on the Scoutmaster 7:30. Scouts are lined up and saluting the flag 7:59. Scouts recite the Boy Scout oath in front of three candles 8:20. A new scene opens in a classroom where men are being trained to be Scoutmasters 19:32. The Scoutmaster instructor outlines the hierarchy of the Scoutmaster program on a blackboard 20:30. The men engage in a contest of knot tying 21:30. One of the Scoutmaster recruits addresses the classroom 22:07. Man interviews a Scout cutting potatoes into a pail 23:13. The interviewer interviews a Scout on a basketball court 23:30. The interviewer interviews a Scout in front of study hall 23:53. The interviewer interviews two Scouts in uniform 24:14.
