18364 “BE AGGRESSIVELY SAFE” 1976 INTERNATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION AIRPLANE SAFETY REPORT

This color educational film from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is about airline pilots and safety. There is no copyright at the beginning or end of the film so the date of the production remains unclear however this is the mid 1970s, probably 1976 or 1977 due to 1975 airline statistics being reported. ‘Be Aggressively Safe’ title card appears. (:09-:21). Onscreen reads: “The aggressively safe pilot reacts in a positive manner with safety considerations above all.” Our narrator explains how pilots must be safe (:22-:45) Pilots may have to perform a ‘go around’ as our narrator explains. Artist drawings of planes are shown (:46-1:24). Superimposed 1975 IATA report stats about jet losses. Accident occurrence by phase of flight stats are shown for years 1972-1975 and for 1975.
