17834 ” BEHIND THE SCENES AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ” 1920s SILENT ERA FILM HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA MOVIE STUDIO

Thunderbird Films presents a 1920’s era, black and white, silent movie tour of Universal Studios. The movie opens in a movie set with a white building fronted by large flags, 00:20. The camera pans down the street to other white buildings and cars passing in the street, 00:48. The first scene takes place in The Scenario Department, 1:05. Men are smoking and going over paperwork in an office, 1:15. A very large white building is pictured, 1:20. Eddie Lyons and Lee Moran arrive, 1:25, followed by Victoria Forde, 1:38. The company is directed on what costumes to wear, 1:55. The scenery for the show is ordered, 2:20. The costumes are picked out, 2:35. Seamstresses work at sewing machines, 2:46. The furniture and settings show are removed from the property room, 2:55. A man walks down a corridor past other men with a movie camera, 3:38. The largest stage in the world is shown as the camera pans across it, 3:47. The scenes are set, 4:11. Men and women clamor around a movie camera, 4:25. The ensemble tries to make a movie scene, 4:42. Actors play their roles as the camera is run manually by a director, 4:55. The cast rearranges the set, 5:40. Transportation is slow but sure; an elephant pulls a cart with someone driving from sitting atop the elephant, 6:07. A scene is staged where men run through a door, 6:26. Mr. Otis Turner’s Company making a feature play, 6:44. An African marketplace set is shown, 6:52. Men on horseback come through the market, 6:57. The camera pans around the sound stage waiting for the actors to begin, 7:16. Lunch time, the crew takes a break for some food in the cafeteria, 7:52. A waiter waits on a table of ladies and gentlemen at the studio commissary 8:23.
