In 1968 a group of U.S. veterans embarked on a trip to Japan. These weren’t just ordinary vets, but members of the Flying Tigers, the American 14th Air Force which fought against the Japanese in China. The trip was apparently filmed by flight engineer Albert Love who was sent to China in 1943 to help form the 14th.
The film documents a rather ordinary trip to the Far East, with an emphasis on Japan. At :26, members of the 14th board a Northwest Airlines plane in Seattle to fly to Japan. According to an itinerary provided with the film, some of the scenes in Japan include Hakonie National Park, Kyoto, Hayama (2:50), the grand wooden temple at Daibutsuden (8:08), and the Uji River. At 9:00 the group takes a ride on a bullet train. The group also visited Taipei, Hong Kong, and Honoulu, Hawaii (12:00).
