10264 ” VEHICLE STOP TACTICS ” 1970s POLICE TRAINING FILM RIVERSIDE POLICE DEPARTMENT (Part 1?)

This is a 1970’s era, color movie describes methods employed by police for traffic stops, and shows “dos” and “donts” that can save (or cost) an officer his life. It was presented by MTI Teleprograms, Inc. and directed by Murray Woroner of Woroner Films and shot mostly in Southern California and Riverside. (Special thanks to David Woroner for allowing us to make his father’s film available.) Graphic scene of police being killed by an unidentified driver, 2:20. Police being shot on the highway and on the side of the road, 3:10. Policeman is shot twice by a driver on a routine stop, 3:45. Policeman is assassinated on the side of the road, 4:29. Policeman is assassinated on the side of the road and falls over a bridge, 5:10. Dead Riverside Police Department officer is shown in his police cruiser, 5:46. Dead officers are shown, 5:50. Police officer surveils and reports a suspected vehicle, 7:40. Police officer trails a Ford pickup truck, 8:35. Officers trail a suspect, 9:25. Officers stop a suspect and pull him to the side of the road, 9:40. Suspect deliberately backs into a police cruiser, 10:05. A woman is pulled over and asked to step out of her vehicle, 11:05 by a Corona Police Department officer. A potential violator is stopped at night, 12:25. The officer approaches the car from behind the car, 13:00. Two officers approach a stopped car in the daytime; the passenger side is approached first, 13:15. The license plate, truck lock and back seats are checked, 13:25. Officer approaches a van and checks the rear door, 13:46. An officer stops a lady and asks for her drivers license, 14:20. The officer asks the driver to keep her hands on the wheel, 14:25. Police officer is shown getting knocked down by a person trying to get out of his car, 14:48. Police officer stands in the correct position, behind the driver, 15:06. Woman who is late for work is stopped by an officer, 15:38. Woman gives her license to the officer, 15:52. Man gets taken to the back of the car and gets angry with the officer, 16:29. Police officer writes citations, 17:05. Officer stands 3 feet from person he is citing, 14:06. 4 men get out of the car and threaten officer, 18:27. Officer is shot by one of the men, 18:32. The policeman crawls to his cruiser and gets on his walkie talkie, 19:09.
