During the Vietnam War, the Republic of Vietnam Navy or VNN became one of the world’s largest, with 42,000 men and women and 672 amphibious ships and craft and 20 mine warfare vessels, 450 patrol craft, 56 service craft, and 242 junks. This 1968 U.S. Navy training film explains the duties of advisers to the Vietnamese Navy Fleet Command. It also features footage of many of the American built warships used by the VNN. NOTE: Magenta color of this footage is due to loss of the cyan dyes. This can be fixed in color correction.
