64594 MANUFACTURE OF SIERRA ENGINEERING APH-6C FLIGHT HELMETS for PILOTS CHARLES LOMBARD

This silent film shows some of the steps in assembling a pilot’s flight helmet. It’s believed that the film shows APH-6C Dual Visor Pilot Flight Helmet developed by Sierra Engineering Company, Sierra Madre, CA in the mid-to-late 1960s and sold through the late 1970s, Military Spec: MIL-H-22995A. Sierra got its start in the late 1940s and created a famous crash test dummy known as “Sierra Sam”. By 1966 the company had over 300 employees.
